Getting started
Set up Kicklace in about ten minutes, starting from your website.
This is the order most people set Kicklace up in. It takes about ten minutes.
1. Make your workspace
Go to kicklace.com/signup and leave your email. We send you a link. Open it, say what your business is called, and your workspace is ready. There's no password to pick, and nothing is charged.
2. Name your website
Setup opens on Your website. Paste your site's address and Kicklace reads it while you watch: what you sell, what the site is built with, and the forms and buttons on it.
Nothing on your site changes. Kicklace only reads it.
3. Let Kicklace hear it
Hear it gives you one line to put on your site. We call it the tag. It goes in the <head> of
every page, and the screen says where that is for your site, whether it's Squarespace, Wix,
WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Carrd or your own code. Your website and its
forms has every one.
The screen turns green when your first visit arrives, so you know it works.
If a form from another tool is on your site, like HubSpot or Mailchimp, Setup offers to move you off it. Moving from another CRM says how.
4. Connect what else you use
What else you use is optional. Connect Stripe and payments land on the right person. Connect Google Calendar and meetings do too. Skip anything you don't use.
5. Make your map
Open Lifecycle. The first time, it walks you through three screens:
- Your road. What you sell, a few lines about your business, and the stops your customers reach. Kicklace offers stops from what it read on your site. Rename them in your own words.
- Off the road. Things that happen off to the side, like a refund or a failed payment.
- Your emails. Kicklace writes your first emails, in your voice, from what you told it.
Press Make it our map. You can also start from a sample and change it. The Lifecycle has the rest.
6. Switch on your first email
Nothing sends until you switch it on. Open an email on the map, read it, change what you want, and press Send me a test to see it arrive. When it reads right, switch its sequence on. Kicklace first shows you who would have got it over the last 30 days.
From then on it goes to each person who reaches that stop, once.
7. Send from your own address
On Free, Kicklace sends your email with your name on it, up to 50 a day. On Pro you send from your own domain, and Settings → Sending walks you through it. Email has the details.
Replies go to your own email address. Once you send from your own domain, they can come back into Kicklace's Mail instead. Replies and your inbox says how.
